About Us

Hi! My name is Katherine, but you can call me Katie!

I have always had animals in my life ever since I could walk, I had lots of pocket pets when I was growing up, hamsters, parakeets, a bunny, goldfish, and a cat. I did not develop a true passion for working with animals until I started volunteering at Dane County Humane Society back in 2004.

During the summer of 2004 I started volunteering with the cats at Dane County Humane Society and picked up the dogs the next summer in 2005. It was then that I decided that I wanted to work with animals as a career. I spent three years from 2008-2011 working at three different boarding and daycare facilities in Dane County. Although I loved working with the animals, there was always something missing from the kennel experience, the one on one love and attention that is not possible to give each pet when boarding multiple animals at a kennel.

In December 2011 I decided to go back to school and enrolled in the Small Business Entrepreneurship Program at MATC. I graduated in May 2014 and opened my business at the end of May a couple weeks after graduating. I also received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Luther College in 2007.

In memorium of Adam and Annie!

I  had Adam since he was a 15 week old kitten, he ruled the house for over 17 years.  He passed away the end of 2021. He and his brother Steve were found in a box on a doorstep and we took them both in. We lost Steve back in 2013 due to cancer at age 9. Adam continued to be our loving companion for many more years and seemed to enjoy being the ruler of the house. I also had a Quaker Parakeet named Frankie for many years who we lost in 2020, many fish, frogs, hamsters, birds, and 2 other kitties in my career of being a pet mama!

This company was inspired by my beautiful pup Annie! I got her July 25, 2008 from Dane County Humane Society. She gave me 7 wonderful years, we did everything together! We did a lot of training and passed our Canine Good Citizen in 2009, then went on to do some agility and rally for fun. We enjoyed going to the Goodman pool every year, Dogtoberfest, and frequented many dog parks in Madison. Unfortunately Annie became ill 2014 with an anal gland tumor, and passed away in October of 2015 from a more severe type of cancer at the age of 12! RIP baby girl!
